My name is Lauren and I currently work full time as an Instructional Services Specialist at the Center for Language and Culture Learning at the University of Iowa. I am also a graduate student at the University of Iowa working on my MA in Linguistics. My interests are second language acquisition, classroom technology tools, and American Sign Language. I chose to redirect my professional life into instruction and linguistics after my own journey in second language acquisition studying American Sign Language. 

My professional experience is mostly in administration. I spent almost 10 years working in various administrative positions managing business systems and procedures. Those experiences allowed me to hone skills in everything from bookkeeping and development research to software instruction and organizing volunteers. 

My job and school work keep me very busy, but I enjoy spending quality time with my family either at home in Iowa or traveling.
